Gratis is an exploration of the possibilities of shaped plates. Removed from the roadsides, “free” takes on a new meaning as these living chairs are in a boundless state beyond their previous transitional state. To be free from limbo is what was desired, but now they are overwhelmed by so many possibilities that they land themselves in a bright, borderless void. The only things that ground them in their past are their signage and their shadows: remnants of their comfort zones.
